There are times when a drink gets spilled on the carpet. No matter if it was coffee, juice, wine, or some other liquid, they can be hard to get off, though some would be easier compared to the others. However, with the proper tools—and if all else fails, with the help of professional cleaners— carpet cleaning in Westminster is easy, and you can even get stains that have already set in.
One drink that is commonly spilled is coffee. If the spill is still new and it hasn’t yet set in, the first thing that must be done is to blot it with a clean absorbent towel, paper towel, or cloth in order to absorb as much of the liquid. Afterwards, use a sponge with some mild liquid detergent and rub it in a circular motion. On the other hand, if the stain is a bit old and has set in, a mixture of water and baking soda would do the trick. This should be rubbed into the carpet and brushing after it has dried.
Stains such as those from colas, alcoholic beverages, milk, and paint can be taken care of by using a cleaning solution made up of ¼ teaspoon of non-bleach detergent and 32 ounces of water. Meanwhile, stains such as those from chocolate, tea, wine, and mustard could be cleaned using a mixture of a tablespoon of ammonia and a cup of water.
There are also carpet cleaning solutions that have been formulated for specific types of carpet stains. These could be used as an alternative to the mixtures previously mentioned, or if the mixtures weren’t enough. Even though there are ways to remove stains that have set, it is still advisable to take care of new stains as soon as possible to not make if difficult later on.
Accidents happen and drinks can get knocked off and the liquid gets on the carpet. This should be no reason to panic, however, as the stain can be removed given the proper methods. Homeowners who are finding it hard to get certain types of stains out of their carpet should contact a company who is experienced in stain removals and carpet cleaning in Bayswater, such as Safeclean Westminster, so that the stubborn stains can be eliminated immediately.
